WFNU is a community based low power FM radio station that serves the greater Frogtown area, broadcasting on 94.1 FM. Organizers from Frogtown and Minneapolis formed the Twin Cities Community Radio Initiative, and in conjunction with FNA and the Center for Hmong Arts and Talent, we were granted a permit from the FCC to build a community radio station in 2014. The station is run completely by members of the Frogtown community, and gives residents a chance to engage with one another, and let their voices be heard. We strongly believe in the power of a community owned media tool, and actively work to use its reach to entertain and inform residents, while giving aspiring artists the tools and experience they need to create the programming they want to see.
