The Victoria Theatre, located at 825 University Ave, first opened it's doors in in 1915. This building has a colorful history draped in art and community. Although it’s been vacant for almost 20 years, the building has worn many different hats; serving as a community theatre, (for both movies and live performances), a nightclub, dancehall, and speakeasy! Right off the Victoria Station along the Greenline train, this theatre is a true symbol of Frogtown’s strong history, and a central axis point of the neighborhood as a whole. Having recently gained the status as a Local Historic Destination, residents of frogtown are passionate about reclaiming a piece of their history, breathing new energy into the space, and allowing it to blossom into a cherished asset of the community once again.
