Feeding Frogtown
started as Support and ENCOURAGEMENT to Strengthen families living in our community.
The weekly Meal Meetings (FFMM) offering nutritional options from local restaurants and Bi-weekly Grocery Gatherings (FFGG) at the West Minnehaha Recreation Center, and satellite distributions at Wilder and Como apartments (seasonal), became a necessity after the sudden loss of two local food shelves in the area. A
We work with Frogtown Farm, Sanneh Foundation, Renewing the Countryside, Humanity Alliance, Second Harvest Heartland, Kitchen Coalition, Cheng Heng, Miltons Halal Market &Deli and other distributors. Ensuring the ability to provide hyper-fresh produce for 300-500+ families at FFGG and 1,500+ servings at FFMM whom are serve, week in and week out. Another focus is on continuing a partnership with Animal Humane Society, assisting to feed pets in need along with their families.
Ultimately, hopeful of working with other community organizations and stakeholders to develop and implement a vision for a truly self-sustaining a neighborhood food system.
For Feeding Frogtown Coordinator Nura, the Frogtown neighborhood in St. Paul is one of love, care, and diversity. In partnership with Kitchen Coalition, Feeding Frogtown is able to distribute freshly prepared meals to nourish the community.
