Creative Frogtown

Creative Frogtown is an evolving vision that seeks to engage the community in a variety of different art based programs and events, while serving as the digital and creative arm of the Frogtown Neighborhood Association.

These community gatherings range from topics including spiritual and physical healing, environmental activism, artistic storytelling, and everything in between.

Through Creative Frogtown, we aim create opportunities for local residents to share and lead one another in discussions, workshops, and play!

Championship Strategy

Championship Strategy is an outreach initiative to recruit, engage, and develop youth by hiring them to be Frogtown “champions”. This diverse group of youth (ages 14-24) will serve as leaders and allies to represent youth voice at various decision making tables in and around Frogtown, e.g. community organizing regarding artistry activism, Frogtown’s Housing and Land Plan, Feeding Frogtown, and other relevant issues.

Youth Organizer Interns, or “Champions” engage with the community, organize community initiatives to create better and more livable neighborhoods, and develop the skills to be influential and rooted in their neighborhood.  Interns will participate in organizing events, activities, and gatherings creatively through arts, music and knowledge. They will meet community storytellers, leaders, and residents to learn about how neighborhood issues have impacted the community.

Youth Organizer Interns will work towards supporting and contributing to the Land Use and Housing Plan within the values of Development Without Displacement. These activities include:

  • Organizing community engagement events.

  • Learning and leveraging the resources in communities.

  • Giving feedback to the development of the Housing and Land Use Plan.

  • Work with mentors to create resources to build trust, understanding, solidarity, and collaboration across diverse communities.

  • Increase authentic youth voice and leadership within Frogtown and Rondo.

  •  Co-facilitate Community Mediation and Healing Spaces.

  •  Participate in training programs for leadership development.

  • Youth Organizer Interns  will identify 1 or 2 community issues that they want to address each year and organize outreach events, community presentations, or placemaking activities around them.
